Center for Security Policy CESES has been officially established on 4th of January 2005 as a CESES working group on behalf of the agreement by the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences Charles University, Doc. Ing. Jan Ámos Víšek, Csc. and the verdict by the director of CESES Prof. PhDr. Martin Potůček, Csc, MSc., in accordance with the article 3 of paragraph 4 of the rules of organization CESES FSS CU.
Center for Security Policy (CSP) aims for the improvement of the security policy in the Czech Republic, in particular by:
Its own research activities
Within its analytical, conceptual and prognostic work CSP aims not only at professional quality and originality of its outputs but also at its usefulness in praxis.
Educational activities
CSP is preparing and providing teaching of the security policy to students of Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. It also organizes different types of seminars, conferences and round tables for broad public.
Communication and cultivating the dialog
CSP is as an important neutral piece of the security community cultivating the dialog between the experts, representatives of public service as well as governmental officials, political party members and non-governmental organizations.
Research in the security field (concepts and theory), security policy (creation and realization) and security system (progress and strategic leadership).
Prognosis of the development of the security situation in the Czech Republic, Europe and the world as a whole.
Analysis and evaluation of the current problems of the security situation and security policy in national and international scope.
Research of the creation and realization of the defense policy in the Czech Republic.
Research in the field of civil management and control of the armed forces.
Presence and the realization of the research project FSS CU and PF CU “The progress of the Czech society within the EU: challenges and risks”. Within the frame of the partial project CESES FSS CU “Vision and strategy of the Czech society progress within EU” the team solving of the Security project is under way.
