V úterý 7. prosince proběhla v Senátu Parlamentu České republiky aktuální tematická diskuse "NATO v měnícím se světě a Nová strategická koncepce NATO 2010". Diskuse se uskutečnila s laskavou podporou Nadace Friedricha Eberta. Hlavní vystoupení přednesli Alexandr Vondra, ministr obrany ČR, Jiří Schneider, 1. náměstek ministra zahraničních věcí a Lars Klingbeil, poslanec Spolkového sněmu, člen výboru pro obranu, člen Stálé delegace Spolkového sněmu do Parlamentního shromáždění NATO. Mnohdy provokativní komentáře poskytli Prof. Otto Pick, bývalý velvyslanec ČR se zvlášním posláním, Lubomír Zaorálek, místopředseda Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu ČR, Joseph Pennington, Chargé d'Affaires Velvyslanectví USA v Praze. Konference

V pátek, 12. listopadu 2010 proběhla v Národní technické knihovně v Praze 6. Pražská bezpečnostní konferenci "Budoucnost Evropy - lidé - zdroje - technologie", která se konala v rámci předsednictví Belgického království v Radě EU.
Hlavní organizátoři konference: Středisko bezpečnostní politiky Centra pro sociální a ekonomické strategie FSV UK, Institut ochrany obyvatelstva GŘ HZS Lázně Bohdaneč MV ČR a Velvyslanectví Belgie v České republice. Laskavou podporou konferenci zaštítily Městská část Prahy 6, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung v Praze, Zastoupení Evropské komise v ČR a Ministerstvo životního prostředí ČR.
V jednotlivých blocích vystoupili přední odborníci na danou problematiku a konferenci navštívilo přes 200 účastníků.

Today, we are launching research project "Trends, Risks and Scenarios of the Security Evolvement in the Wolrd, Europe and the Czech Republic - Impacts on the Security Policy and Security System of the Czech Republic" within the Security Research Program of of the Czech Republic 2010 - 2015 enounced by Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. Synopsys of the project: Analysis of trends, threats, and risks in the global security environment, and of their impacts on the Czech Republic. Identification of vulnerabilities of the CR, and writing the scenarios predicting evolution of security and potential responses by the security system. Mapping the key trends: availability of raw materials and energy, policies of global actors, evolving demography and economies, technology and science. Recommendations for updating the strategic documents and innovations of the CR security system. |

The event was organized by American Center, US Embassy in Prague, UN Information Center in Prague and Center for Security Policy Charles University in Prague.

The event was trying to aswer the question whether Coalition Forces have been succesfull in Afghanistan in past seven years. The main aim has been taken at Czech experience in Afghanistan.

Czech version of an important document "A European Way of Security"
In connection with the workshop "Security strategy of EU and Common security and defence policy", that took place on 29. May 2008, we have managed to materialize the czech translation of the key security document "A European Way of Security" (with kind assistance of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung).

Panel discussion “Foreign Policy and Security Strategy priorities of Presidential Candidates: A real change?!” took place on Tuesday 9 September 2008 from 3 p.m. in the American center of the Embassy of the United States of America, Trziste 13, Prague 1
On Tuesday June 17 took place panel discussion “Foreign Policy and Security Strategy priorities of Presidential Candidates: A real change?!”. The main topics were addressing the foreign policy priorities of presidential candidates Future of Trans-Atlantic system, Hot-Spots (Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Middle East conflict), USA and China, Russia, India, Future challenges (Climate change, energy security etc.)
